We had a great trip to Missouri, March 18-21! Our travels took us through Kansas City, Columbia, St. Louis, and Springfield. We connected with individuals and churches interested in partnership with our media ministry to Asia.
I know Dave really enjoyed getting to meet so many great people who shared connections with Asia (even Thailand), Wichita and/or video production. We had a great time sharing at the International Community Church on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia and catching up with friends in St. Louis.
One highlight for me (Sarah) was meeting G & N, our host couple for the first evening. G & N served in Thailand for twenty-five years and raised three sons overseas. They spent time showing us old photos as well as new photos from a recent visit back. To this day, fruit is bearing because of their family’s faithful, long-term commitment to the L’s work in Thailand; it brought tears to my eyes just listening to them. We shared lots of laughter together, too, as we played an evening game of Farkle, and they told us those ‘only in movies’ kind of stories from cross-culture life.
We are thankful to have two churches in Missouri reviewing us and considering partnership with our ministry. In addition to Wichita, we’d love to have a strong support base in Missouri. Please pray with us, for the L to guide and give wisdom to those committees in the coming months as they process and vote.
Lastly, I can’t help but share how cared for baby boy and I felt on this trip! My thoughtful husband made sure I had plenty of time to rest in between meetings, our gracious hosts served us delicious homemade meals, and many prayed over us and baby boy. What kindness in the L!
FUN FACT: Thailand is the world’s number one exporter of Orchids
To our friends who hosted us, for the churches who welcomed us, and to family and friends who prayed for us, THANK YOU! We left Missouri feeling so encouraged and blessed to be part of His worldwide church and worldwide story.
In His blessing, Sarah Lynn
