Last year, we attended First Evangelical Free’s “M Sunday” just after finding out we were accepted with ReachGlobal.
This year, we were invited to share at First Evangelical Free‘s “M Sunday” for the youth in the morning, then attended the evening trip around the world. It was one of those days where you find yourself sighing a sigh of satisfaction and awe because of G and His goodness.
First, we had the privilege of seeing Chris C again! He is on the ServeAsia team with ReachGlobal, and it had been eight months since we last saw him on our Vision Trip. We also got to meet his lovely wife Kellie, who was not in Chiang Mai at the time we had visited. It was a short but meaningful and refreshing time getting to connect with them. Kellie even blessed me with a beautiful skirt from Thailand, pictured below. We enjoyed getting to hear more from Chris and Kellie in the evening, about the ministry they do at Grace International School in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Second, Dave had a blast sharing in the morning to two high school groups, one middle school group and two elementary groups of First E Free. The focus was on how m’s can have different jobs, and how those jobs can serve to advance the gospel. My favorite part was when Dave verbally described Thailand and Japan, then showed a one-minute video from our Vision Trip. He’d ask the youth, which gave you a better understanding, my words or the video? They’d all get huge grins as they’d say, “the video”! They were understanding just how impactful video can be for spreading the gospel deep and wide.
Third, we were spurred on and edified by the guest speaker, Pastor Brandon Redic of The Bridge Church in Wichita, KS. We’re excited for this growing, multi-ethnic church. Pastor Redic shared on Psalm 96 and our motivation for mission being the greatness of G. Amen and amen!
Last but not least, we were encouraged by friends and family who stopped by our ministry table in the foyer. We feel so blessed to have the relationships we have! We also got to make new friends in the evening, as we enjoyed a delicious Chinese dinner and traveled around the world in the church basement 🙂 It was refreshing to hear from other m’s and aspiring m’s.
G is so gracious to us!
For His glory among the nations, Sarah Lynn
