Yesterday was a significant transition point for me (Dave), as I completed my last day of work at Heartspring, where I have served as Director of Web & Mobile App Development for over five years. It was, in many ways, a difficult day for me; I have grown to love and cherish the kids and staff there, and I will certainly miss them.
At Men’s Group last night, we finished up our study on Spiritual Leadership, and discussed the importance of replicating our leadership skills into others. For me, it was a timely discussion, as I had been reflecting on the legacy I am leaving behind at Heartspring. Did I invest in those around me? Am I leaving the organization (and specifically, my department) in a healthy state? Many kind words at my going-away reception were encouraging, and even though I know I could have done more, I am amazed at G’s perfect provision and leading during my time there.
I am realizing that my job at Heartspring was such a part of my identity, and that in order to thrive in transitions such as this, I must find my identity in Christ alone. In Him, I have all that I need – His grace is sufficient for me, for His power is made perfect in weakness. (2 Cor. 12:9)
Thank you, Heartspring family and friends, and thanks be to G for His wonderful, sovereign timing in all things.
