Well, he did it again folks! 🙂
My amazing husband planned a wonderful retreat for our four year marriage anniversary (April 21).
He packed in a few sweet surprises before our original plans of visiting Silver Dollar City amusement park for their last “World Fest” celebration; including an hour long horseback ride and a beautiful bouquet of flowers in our hotel room upon arrival. I felt so cherished by him and his thoughtfulness.
We enjoyed a few hikes near Table Rock Lake during our visit, as well as some free bags of goodies from Silver Dollar City for celebrating our Anniversary with them- our favorite was a free bag of their delicious kettle corn!
Of course we were in heaven seeing all the different world performers at World Fest. My favorite moment was a troop of young adults from Czech Republic; it was their first visit to the States! A young woman wearing a beautiful crown of flowers sang part of “Amazing Grace” in Czech, then invited the audience to join in with English. It was so touching, to think of people from every tribe, language, people and nation worshipping the one true G! And we were thankful to get to freely worship in a public setting, since it’s becoming less and less accepted these days.
Our last portion of the trip was spent in Springfield, MO for a marriage conference. We were grateful to gain some more tools for deepening communication and to have an intentional time of solely focusing on our marriage relationship.
As I reflect on our past year of marriage, I think of the ever popular phrase, “Home is wherever I’m with you”. It sounds cheesy, but as I look back at how much we traveled last year and how much travel our future holds, I’m so grateful for my soul mate and the reality of a home with Dave for as long as G allows us to live and wherever He has us live.
In His love, the greatest love of all, Sarah Lynn
